Next Emergent meeting:

There will NOT be an Emergent meeting on Thursday, 1 April because the Candidate is not ready. However, we are planning a double Second Degree for the Emergent Night in May, which falls on 6 May. The candidates will be Bros Clarke and St. Pierre.

Next regular meeting:

Our next Regular Meeting will be on Thursday, 15 April. This will be "Election Night", when we will be voting on the senior officers for the coming Masonic year. We will also be doing a First Degree to initiate Mr. O'Neil Brooke.

News from the Regular Meeting  18 February 2010

Because our Regular Meeting in March meeting fell in the "March Break" of Ottawa schools, some of our officers were away.  The WM was in London England and the Secretary was down in Kilmarnock, VA, building another Habitat for Humanity house. Nevertheless, the meeting wasably managed by the SW, WBro Pepper, sitting in the East, and the secretarial functions were done by Bro Martineau.   The work of the evening was Masonic Education, under the tutelage of RWBro Harbert.  We also balloted on the Petition of Mr. O'Neil Brooke and the Application for Affiliation of WBro Mark Paine, with the ballots being favourable to both applicants.

*INSTALLATION 2017*  Our Regular Meeting on 18 May will be the last of the current Masonic year.  WBro Jeff Hawkins, WM-Elect, will be installed in the Chair of King Solomon, and the officers of 2017-18 will be invested.

The Installation is one of the most important meetings of the Masonic year, and the ritual which is used is unique to the Installation ceremony.

There will be a sumptuous banquet prior to the meeting, provided by the incoming WM., and of course, the DDGM will be in attendance, together with what we hope will be many visitors.

All brethren of Bytown are expected to attend, if within the length of their CTs.

Our special ladies have not been forgotten.  Each of those who reside in the Ottawa Area has been brought a Shriners Christmas Cake, along with a Christmas message from the WM and members of the Lodge.
Emergent  Meeting 3 May 17
Rounding out what has been a very busy last half of the current Masonic year, Bytown held another Emergent Meeting on 4 Mar 17.  The work of the evening was  the conferring of a Second Degree on Bro Jad Aboud (shown between the WM and the JW).

The WM hoped to get a perfect number  (7) of brethren of Bytown out for our fraternal visit to Luxor Daylight Lodge on 19 Apr 17 at 1030 hrs,  to deliver the Traveling Gavel.  Instead, he got a double perfect number!

Well done Brethren!

Regular Meeting on 20 Apr 17

*For several years, Bytown has been trying to arrange for the Shrine Degree Team to visit and confer a Third Degree at Bytown.  It finally happened at our Regular Meeting in April.   In spite of several members of the Degree Team having been called away at the last minute, a nearly full slate of  Shriners  was able to attend.  (WBro Pound, who is not a Shriner, remained as IPM).

Thanks to the excellent work of the Shrine Degree Team, Brother Chris Moynahan

is our newest Master Mason.

The April Meeting was also election night.  The following officers were elected by ballot for the 2017-18 Masonic year:  WM - WBro Jeff Hawkins;  SW - WBro Ernest Nelson; JW - VWBro Cal Bellamy; Secretary - WBro Scott Macdonald; Treasurer - WBro Robert Farrell.
